I am no skilled photographer – I just shoot interesting motives I stumble across.
I have a Nikon Coolpix P90, not a reflex camera this time either. I want it simple, and I’m more interested in motives than in the technicalities. The reason for choosing the P90 is the size and quality of the lens. Photography is capturing light, and size (of the lens opening) does matter.
I’ve previously been a Canon girl. Bought my first digital camera before moving to Brasil in 2002, for the stunning amount of € 1.000. The P90 today costs half that. It was a Canon Powershot A30 and it shot a lot of photos, until it caved in 2007. Then I bought a Powershot A710IS, and it’s really been a Monday-camera the whole time. The lens had to be changed after 6 months, and it has not seemed to be stable. So I’m not missing it. It’s probably going to be taken out for short trips (it’s small), but it has been taking some of the fun out of shooting photos.
There are no images of people here. I believe you should be careful with placing images on the internet. Especially images of children. So there are no images of my son anywhere, and trust me, there are a few photos to pick from. But not here. If there are any images of people here, rest assured that I have asked for permission from the people in them. Mostly it’s nature, buildings and cats you’ll find here.
